The work philosophy of Segalés Golf is to design courses on which players can enjoy to the full. To do so, we pay special attention to the level of difficulty we give to each hole, trying to make the course attractive both for the most experienced player and for intermediate or novice players.
Each new project is a great challenge for SG, which is always trying to merge its designs with the surroundings to the full, taking advantage of the existing orography and vegetation in every case.
Once we are aware of the client’s idea of the course and the characteristics of the terrain available, SG applies its experience in order to develop a Golf Course that adapts to the client’s demand and where all the players’ requirements are covered.
A basic question for SG when executing a design is to ensure that from any stroke players have a clear vision of the obstacles present in the hole they are playing, which is why in our designs a single hole may offer different play possibilities depending on the player’s level.
One important factor to be taken into account when designing a Golf Course is what type of user it is geared towards – whether it is a private course (for members only), a course that is open to the public in general or one that forms part of a Resort.
When carrying out a project, SG:
· Studies the client’s demand and tries to adapt itself to it to a maximum level, based on its wealth of experience in the world of golf and the knowledge acquired throughout its professional life.
· Tries to conserve the existing vegetation, preserving the indigenous species to the full.
· Carries out studies of drainage and runoffs for the course, in order to take full advantage of the water resources.
· Checks that the agronomic preparation of the terrain is suitable, as this is the basis for the growth of the lawn and will filter the nutrients and other materials that enter the soil through watering or rainfall.
· For SG it is primordial, when preparing a design, to bear in mind the maintenance the course will have in the future.
· SG carries out its work in coordination with the persons responsible for the partial building plan for the land the golf course forms part of, in order to create designs that fulfil the aspirations of the client and the developer, but above all of the player.
